Madgie Marie Hyder Gilbert

Madgie Marie Hyder Gilbert, 91, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 17, 2014, at her residence. She was a native of Carter County and the daughter of the late Reverend Martin and Vida Young Hyder.
Madgie was a member of Eastern Gate Freewill Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Purdy Gilbert; seven sisters and three brothers; and a grandson, Bobby Lee Campbell.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Linda Campbell and husband Reverend Bob Campbell, and Betty Moody and husband Gene; great-grandchildren, Makayla, Dylan and Noah Campbell; sisters, Hattie Bell, Mary Vance and Aremeta Ringman; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Family and friends will gather to Celebrate the Life of Madgie Gilbert at 8 p.m. Wednesday, November 19, in the Sunrise Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Services with Rev. Bob Campbell, Rev. J.C. Sheets and Rev. Lester Perkins officiating. The family will greet guests to share memories from 6 p.m. until the service hour at the funeral home. A graveside and committal service will be held at Roselawn Memory Gardens at 11 a.m. on Thursday. Pallbearers are Dylan Campbell, Noah Campbell, Ricky Hyder, Charles Odom and Ronald Hyder. Honorary pallbearers will be her nephews. Everyone is asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:15 a.m. to go in procession to the cemetery.
