The tip-off of the 2014-15 boys basketball season came Thursday evening with the opening game of the Hall of Champions tournament at Treadway gymnasium. The Elizabethton Cyclones scored the first five points of the contest and earned a 62-36 victory over Daniel Boone.

The Cyclones (1-0) built a 29-15 lead by the halftime break, dominating the boards with a 14-to-9 advantage. Post Conley Bowers and wing Bo Pless each scored eight points by the break.
