Frank Taylor

Frank Taylor, 82, of Elizabethton, went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, November 5, 2014, at Johnson City Medical Center following a brief illness.
Mr. Taylor was a native of Carter County and the son of the late Wiley Wesley and Mamie Williams Taylor. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Vickie Taylor.
Mr. Taylor was a former employee of East Tennessee Undergarment and the Raceway Service Station. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church and enjoyed playing Bingo.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Betty Guess Taylor, Elizabethton; a daughter, Tammy Turbyfill and husband David, Elizabethton; two sons, Rick Taylor and wife Sylvia, Jonesborough, and Barry Taylor and wife Nancy, Elizabethton; two sisters, Kathleen Payne, Chattanooga, Tenn., and Lula Childers and husband Frank, Elizabethton; eight grandchildren, Joshua Munday, Jonathan Munday, Logan Turbyfill, Myra Santana, Rachel Taylor, Jamie Garfield, Jack Buckles and Heather Stevens; and 10 great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A service to honor the life of Frank Taylor will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday, November 7, in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Rev. Frank Osborne and Rev. Rusty Verran officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, prior to the service, or at the residence of his daughter, Tammy Turbyfill, at anytime. The graveside service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 8, in the Highland Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be members of First Freewill Baptist Church of Elizabethton, former employees of East Tennessee Undergarment and friends at Raceway. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, at 9:15 a.m. Saturday to go in procession. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Pine Ridge Care and Rehab Center for all the love and care extended to Mr. Taylor during his illness.
