Mariann White

Mariann White, 81, of Elizabethton, passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2014 at Appalachian Christian Village. She was the beloved adopted daughter of Donley Nat and Willie Virginia Harrison. White and was born in Roderfield, West Virginia to Ethel Buchanan.

Ms. White retired from Wal-Mart in 1999 after twenty-seven years of service working in sales and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star #163, which she joined in 1951. She was committed to her family and her faith and proudly served at C Street Church of Christ, where she was a member, since 1978.

Ms. White is survived by her daughter, Kim Williams and her husband, Dallas, Elizabethton; a grandson, Travis Williams and his wife, Kelli, Johnson City; two great-grandsons, Jaxson Williams and Jacob Williams, Johnson City; three sisters, Patsy Crouse, WV; Peggy Herndon, MA; and Betty Artman, OH.

A service to honor and celebrate the life of Ms. White will be conducted on Monday, November 3, 2014 at 1:00 PM in the Tetrick Funeral Home, Chapel of Peace, Elizabethton with Mr. Eddy Craft and Mr. Roby Ellis, ministers, officiating. Music will be under the direction of Steve Roberts. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from Noon to 1:00 PM on Monday prior to the service.

Interment will follow the service at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Larry Estep, Steve Roberts, Lucas Roberts, Jeff Stout, Charlie Moreland and Javy Taylor.

Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to Appalachian Christian Village, 2012 Sherwood Drive, Johnson City, TN 37601, or Elizabethton Church of Christ, 137 East C Street, Elizabethton, TN 37643.

The family would like to express a very special thank you to the staff of Appalachian Christian Village for all the love and care shown to Ms. White during her time there. Loving thanks are also expressed to Rachel Brumfield who became a very special person in Ms. White’s life.
