Youth sports can be dangerous, but the threat of injury can be stifled by the watchful eyes of the athletic trainers who stand on the sidelines.

And for many years, the father and son team of physical therapists Danny Smith and Justin Smith have provided first-hand care, on and off of the field, to many local athletes.

“In the fall we are on the sidelines every Friday night with Elizabethton and Cloudland,” said Danny Smith.
