A late call had an influence on a tight 2-1 loss for Milligan against Southern Wesleyan on Wednesday night at Anglin Field.
A 1-1 tie was settled after the Buffs were forced to play a man down when Calvin Mangunda was given a red card with nine minutes left in the second half — after a tussle resulted in a tripped Warriors player.
The goal came soon after when the Warriors’ Alejandro Sanchez delivered the goal with an assist from Bruno Liozzi. Sanchez was able to sink behind the defense and beat Milligan keeper Dan Ball one-on-one.
