No district titles, but it was still a very productive day for the Elizabethton girls and Johnson County boys golf teams.

The Lady Cyclones and the Longhorns qualified for the region tournament next week following second- and third-place finishes, respectfully in the District 1-A/AA tournament at Elizabethton Golf Course on Monday.

The Elizabethton girls were defeated by Sullivan South by a score of 147-172. Sullivan East earned the third regional berth with a tally of 178.

On the boys’ side of things, South won that one going away, finishing with a score of 301, 23 strokes ahead of University High and 24 ahead of the Longhorns.
