One quarter can change everything. That was the case on Friday night as Elizabethton lost to Science Hill 56-34 at Rider Field.
The ’Toppers scored 35 points in the first quarter before ’Betsy was able to find the end zone as time expired.
“They’ve just got an explosive offense and we didn’t do enough things in the first quarter to stop them, we just didn’t quite have it in that first quarter,” Elizabethton head coach Shawn Witten said. “We just got so far down that we had to fight our way back, but that is a good team — explosive and have a lot of weapons.”
