JOHNSON CITY — Elizabethton’s Lady Cyclones gained some early season redemption on the soccer pitch Thursday, as they defeated University High 3-1.
“Overall this win is pretty good, it’s a conference win and this is a team that knocked us out of the playoffs last year,” Elizabethton head coach Bill McClay said.
Elizabethton midfielder Hannah Adams had a big game for ’Betsy, delivering two goals. Her first came off a corner kick that she was able to place just right so that it took once bounce before eluding the crowd of players and the goalkeeper to give the Cyclones the 1-0 lead.
