Eddie Dean Turbyfill Sr., 61, of Elizabethton, Tenn., passed away Sunday, August 24, 2014, at his residence following an extended illness.
A native of Carter County, he was the son of Bonnie Turbyfill of Elizabethton and the late Denny Turbyfill.
Mr. Turbyfill was an electrician. He attended Borderview Christian Church and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local Union #934 for 35 years.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his wife, Rona “Jean” Turbyfill, of the home; two sons, Eddie Dean Turbyfill Jr. and Joshua Ross Turbyfill, both of Elizabethton; four grandchildren; one brother and one sister. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Turbyfill will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday, August 28, in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services with Mr. Scott Fisher, minister, officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, prior to the funeral service, or at the residence at anytime. The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, August 29, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Everyone will meet at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. Friday to go in procession to the cemetery.
