Harriette Lee Pitner Key, 72, of Elizabethton, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, July 10, 2014.
A native of Atlanta, Ga., she was a daughter of the late John Ashton and Opal Faye Daniell Pitner. She had lived in Elizabethton for the past 14 years.
Mrs. Key was retired from the Georgia Department of Labor. She was a member of West Side Christian Church and the Lydia Circle.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert F. Key, and a sister, Jean Slocum.
Survivors include two sons, Greg Key (Pastor of West Side Christian Church) and wife Mary Anne, Elizabethton, and Robby A. Key and wife Kellie, Loganville, Ga.; a brother, John A. Pitney Jr.; four sisters, Carol Key (her twin sister) and husband Norris, Arlene Davis McClure and husband Rob, Marsha L. Boyd and husband Wayne and Sandy L. Jackson and husband Millard, all of Georgia; and three grandchildren, Sarah, Jacob and Nicholas Key.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, July 13, at West Side Christian Church in Elizabethton. There will be a memorial service at Covington Christian Church in Covington, Ga., on Thursday, July 17.
