Mr. and Mrs. Jim Hampton, 1630 Charlotte Drive, Elizabethton, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Thursday, July 3, 2014.

They were married on July 3, 1964, at the old Grace Baptist Church by Dr. George Westmoreland.

Mrs. Hampton is the former Judy Billheimer.

The couple are the parents of Jim and Anna Hampton of Johnson City, Michael Hampton of Johnson City, Christopher and Christa Hampton of Murfreesboro, and Elizabeth Anne Hampton of Nashville.

They have nine grandchildren.

Jim and Judy celebrated their golden anniversary with a reception at the Martha Washington Inn in Abingdon, Va.
