Some road closings have taken place in downtown in Elizabethton to prepare for the Covered Bridge Days
Road closures in downtown Elizabethton for Covered Bridge Days have resulted in some traffic detours.

The Elk Avenue Bridge is now officially closed to motor vehicle traffic. Elk Avenue itself has been closed down to vehicle traffic from Post Office Street to Main Street. Vehicle traffic can still flow around the Monument to reach the Courthouse as well as the Carter County Detention Center and the Carter County Justice Center, which houses the Carter County Sheriff’s Department and the Circuit Court Clerk’s Office.
Additionally, Riverside Drive is closed from Elk Avenue to Post Office Street.
