A throwing error with the game at stake proved costly for Happy Valley as Sullivan Central escaped their Beef-Chick Classic opener with a 4-3 victory at Cannon-Gouge Park.
In the bottom of the seventh, Kyle Tunnell singled to place the go-ahead run aboard for Sullivan Central. A Lucas Parker grounder to Warrior pitcher Justin Morefield prompted a toss toward second base to pick up a second out. However, the ball sailed wide of its mark and floated into the outfield as Tunnell got up and worked his way around to home plate to steal the win.
