Despite a two-stroke lead heading into the final day, the Milligan Lady Buffs came up a few strokes short to finish second in the Appalachian Athletic Conference Spring Invitational on Tuesday at the Elizabethon Golf Course.

SCAD Atlanta jumped Milligan and Tennessee Wesleyan after sitting in third place on the first day to claim the Spring Invitational tournament.

Their 669 was four shots better than the final tally posted by Milligan, which finished second, and Wesleyan’s 679.

“I thought that we played tight today,” Milligan head coach Tony Wallingford said. “We didn’t play our best golf.”
