Elizabethton Parks and Recreation will once again host the Youth Business Fair during Covered Bridge Days this September, giving young entrepreneurs a chance to showcase their creativity and business savvy.

Applications are now open for this year’s fair, which will take place Sunday, Sept. 21, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Covered Bridge Park. The event invites a limited number of participants, ages 7 to 18, to bring their business ideas to life through product creation, branding and marketing.

Thanks to the support of Carter County Bank, there are no booth fees for participants. Youth vendors will keep 100% of their profits and will automatically be entered into a competition for cash prizes based on creativity and business execution.

“Each year we are amazed at the hard work and dedication of participants during this event,” said Andrew McKeehan, president of Carter County Bank. “From artists such as illustrators, painters and craftsmen to bakers, sensory toy creators and T-shirt designers, we continue to be impressed by the innovation and imagination of our local youth.”

To apply, email Emma Massick at emassick@cityofelizabethton.org to receive an application. The registration deadline is Friday, Sept. 5, at 5 p.m. Spaces are limited.

The event is part of Elizabethton’s Covered Bridge Days and is designed to inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs. For updates and more information, visit Elizabethton Parks and Recreation on Facebook and Instagram.
