Nan Ellis

Nan Ellis, 84, of Roan Mountain, passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at Johnson City Medical Center. She was born to the late Henry and Alma Hawkins. She was also preceded in death by her husband, J.B. Ellis.

Nan loved the Lord. She was a member of Lower Shell Creek Christian Church. She had helped with the new church building, tending to details where she was needed. Nan loved her flower garden and her vegetable garden. She also liked to play tennis and go walking with friends. Nan loved her family more than anything.

Those left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Pam Ellis (Billy Stephenson) of Roan Mountain, and Kim Ellis of Charlotte, N.C.; two grandchildren, Jagger and Rockett; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members.

The family will have a celebration of Nan’s life on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at Lower Shell Creek Christian Church at 12 p.m., with dinner after the service. They will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the hour of service.
