Admission is free to the Old Time Music Jam on May 25 at the park, beginning at 1:30 p.m. Enjoy a mix of old-time and traditional folk, Celtic and gospel music. All who are interested in playing, learning about or listening to old-time and traditional folk music are invited. Feel free to bring a recording device for learning purposes.
The Spring Muster at the park will be held May 17 and 18. Events on Saturday, May 17, will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Visitors to the park will be able to step back to the 18th century as members of the Washington County living history organization gather at Fort Watauga to demonstrate various skills, militia living and aspects of daily life on the colonial frontier.
Events Sunday, May 18, will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
May 26 will feature a “Never Forget” Memorial Day concert at 6 p.m. in the park amphitheater. The concert, presented by the Johnson City Community Concert Band, will be in remembrance of and to honor those who have paid the ultimate price for our freedom. In addition to the concert, a special ceremony will recognize those throughout our nation’s history who have fallen in service to our country.
