Debra Helbert Shaun, age 61, of Elizabethton, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at Select Specialty Hospital in Bristol.
Debra was born in Elizabethton on Oct. 19, 1963, to Georgie (Croy) Bemis and the late Donald Gene Helbert. In addition to her parents, Debra was also preceded in death by her husband, Walter David Shaun, on April 30, 2024; her brother, Vincent Helbert; and a sister-in-law, Sharon Harmon Helbert.

Debra was a wonderful housewife and loved spending time with her grandchildren, her family, her dogs and especially with her daughter, Becky.  She was a member of Borderview Christian Church and enjoyed motorcycle riding with her husband, gardening and loved music.

Those left to remember Debra include her daughter, Becky Blackburn; her grandsons, Eli Roberts and Asher Miller; her mom, Georgie Croy Bemis; her sister, Sherri (Helbert) Lundy and husband, Kyle; and her nieces and nephews, Vincent Helbert Jr., Anthony Lundy, Mark Lundy and wife, Brandy, and Ember Lundy; and great-nieces and nephew, Grace and Sophie Helbert and Wren and Finn Lundy; and two special friends, Angelia Wolfe Nichols and Janet Herron.

A celebration of Debra’s life will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday, May 2, 2025, in the Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Mr. Michael Klaus officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel prior to the service on Friday.

The graveside service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 3, 2025, in the George Mottern Cemetery in Watauga. Active pallbearers will be Vincent Helbert Jr., Woody Lyons, Nathan Miller, Bob Miller, Eli Roberts and Kyle Lundy. Honorary pallbearers will be Clyde Croy, Rocky Croy and Joe Carr. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at Tetrick Funeral Home of Elizabethton at 9:30 a.m. Saturday to go in procession to the cemetery.
