Downtown Elizabethton kicks off First Friday summer series with ‘Adventure Vibes’

First Friday is back in downtown Elizabethton, kicking off a summer series of themed evenings, live entertainment and community activities.
The season begins Friday, May 2, with the theme “Adventure Vibes,” encouraging locals and visitors to explore downtown, try something new and rediscover the charm of Elizabethton. Activities will take place from 5 to 8 p.m., followed by First Friday After Dark events extending into the evening.
Evening highlights include participation from more than 20 downtown businesses offering special promotions, giveaways and themed experiences.
A Fun Zone will be set up on Armed Forces Drive featuring a free 9-hole mini golf course, yard games provided by the Elizabethton/Carter County Public Library and a booth from Gold Sponsor Elizabethton Federal Savings Bank.
A Mobile Food Zone will offer a variety of food trucks and highlight downtown dining options. The Community Zone, located at the 400 Block Breezeway, will feature local non-profits and opportunities for volunteer engagement.
Live music performances will be held throughout downtown, featuring:
- Nathaniel Bagley at Crossroads Craftworks
- Mark Larkins at the Fun Zone
- Aaron Dingus at Hellbender Outfitters
First Friday After Dark events include:
- Preston Benfield live at Jiggy Ray’s Downtown Pizzeria from 6 to 10 p.m.
- Trivia Night at Appalachian Sun Brewery starting at 7 p.m.
- Cinema at the Taphouse at Riverside Taphouse beginning at 8 p.m.
The series is presented by Main Street Elizabethton, with support from Gold Sponsor Elizabethton Federal Savings Bank, Silver Sponsors Citizens Bank and Tour Carter County, and May’s Bronze Sponsor, Carefree Boat Club of Tennessee.
