Norma June Potter–Rash, 68, of Elizabethton, passed away Monday, April 21, 2025, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital after a brief illness, surrounded by her family and friends. She was born Aug. 5, 1956, in Carter County. Norma was a 1974 graduate of Hampton High School and attended East Tennessee State University. She was a retired employee of P.S.G. She was a member of the Moose Lodge and a lifetime member of the VFW, both in Florida. She loved to fish and travel.
She was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her father, James O. Potter.
Survivors include her husband of 34 years, John A. Rash; her mother, Roberta Church Potter; one sister, Sheila Young and husband, James; one niece, Kara Knipp and husband, Derek; two great-nieces, Emila and Eleanor; and her special friend, Sandra.
The family will receive friends at the residence Thursday, May 1, 2025, from 5 to 7 p.m. The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of Sycamore Shoals Hospital for the excellent care she received. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Norma to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or Shriners Hospitals for Children, 950 W.
