Elizabethton Police Department arrests

The following arrests were reported by the Elizabethton Police Department:

  • Brian Scott Smith was arrested April 13 after fleeing from officers investigating a stolen license plate at Walmart. He was charged with resisting arrest, evading arrest, possession of stolen property, and tampering with evidence.

  • Amanda Jean Davis and Dillon Holder were cited April 12 for shoplifting at Walmart after failing to scan items at self-checkout. Each was issued a summons to appear in court on April 28.

  • Robert A. Fulwiler was arrested April 11 at Bojangles for public intoxication and drug violations after he was found unconscious in a booth. Officers recovered Schedule IV drugs, methamphetamine, and paraphernalia from his person.

  • John C. Presnell was cited April 11 for driving without a license and without insurance after backing a truck into a sign at Stateline Market. He was given an April 28 court date.

 

  • Michael Joe Woodby was cited for criminal trespassing on April 4 after returning to Stateline Market, where he had previously been trespassed. Officers responded to reports of a man asking patrons for money and found Woodby at the scene. He was issued a summons and given a court date of April 30.

  • Richard Lynn Cloyd was arrested April 3 on a warrant and additionally charged with resisting arrest after he was found hiding under a mattress at a residence on Jack Bradley Road. He was transported to the Carter County Detention Center and given an April 14 court date.
    Cloyd is also wanted in connection with a separate April 3 incident in which he fled a traffic stop at high speed on West I Street, nearly colliding with others. Charges include felony evading arrest, reckless driving, and driving on a revoked license. A warrant was issued.

  • Geraldine Virginia Whitaker was arrested April 1 at Walmart for shoplifting, criminal trespass, possession of methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia. She had previously been trespassed from the store. Meth and paraphernalia were recovered during a search.

All arrestees are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
