Youth league action in full swing despite early challenges

Elizabethton Star reporter Ron Marvel was on hand to take in the sights and sounds of a Saturday’s worth of action in the Elizabethton/Carter County Youth Baseball and Softball Association.

Andy Hilton, association president, was also present and shared his thoughts on the progress of the 2025 season.

“Our success as a league, with such a curveball thrown at us by Helene, has been amazing,” Hilton said. “The fact that we are playing softball and baseball at Lions Field is a success in itself. Many did not think it could be done, but with the help of the City of Elizabethton Parks and Recreation, many volunteers, all the parents and especially the children, this season is underway for both baseball and softball and is excelling at great measures.”
