SWVAA to host Double Header Angus Sale April 19 in Abingdon

ABINGDON, Va. — The Southwest Virginia Angus Association will sponsor its “SWVAA Double Header Angus Sale” on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at 12 noon at the Washington County Fairgrounds.

Eighteen consignors from Southwest Virginia and East Tennessee will participate in the sale, which includes 62 registered Angus females. Offerings include bred and open heifers, bred cows, and both spring and fall calving pairs.

Following the female sale, the 26th Annual Performance Tested Fall Bull Sale will feature 44 bulls selected for their top-tier genetics. The group of bulls averaged a 205-day adjusted weight of 677 lbs., a 365-day adjusted weight of 1,184 lbs., gain on test of 4.15 lbs., and ribeye of 13.4. All bulls were fed as a group at G&E Farm in Gretna, Va., and evaluated by a VDACS state grader.
