Elizabethton Carter County Youth Baseball kicked off its season Saturday, April 5, with opening day festivities at Lions Field. In one of the day’s exciting matchups, the Betsy Bananas, coached by Terrence Turner, defeated the Bomb Droppers, coached by Adam Townsend, by a score of 10-2. The game was part of a full day of youth baseball action showcasing local talent and community spirit. Elizabethton Star correspondent Ciara Laws was on hand to capture the excitement as families and fans cheered on the teams. The league’s season continues with games scheduled throughout the spring.
