McKinley H. Pugh, 74, of Elizabethton, Tenn., died Monday, March 31, 2025, in Johnson City Medical Center, due to injuries sustained in an auto collision on Mary Patton Highway on March 26, 2025.

Mick was born in Waterloo, Iowa, and lived 30 years in Minnesota before settling in Carter County in 1993.

He was an Eagle Scout and played both piano and drums in his youth. He was an avid reader and woodworker his whole life. With his wife of 53 years, Kay, he enjoyed golfing, square and round dancing, camping and playing cards with friends. They traveled the country for a year in their RV as a retirement celebration.

Mick was preceded in death by his parents, William A. and Audrey M. Pugh.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Kay Pugh of Elizabethton; brother, Phil Fontana of Iowa City, Iowa; daughter, Melissa Pugh of Bristol, Tenn.; son, Matthew Pugh (Delcina) of Bristol, Tenn.; son, Mark Pugh (Shea) of Zuni, Va.; and three grandsons, Riley, age 16; Lane, age 13; and Levi, age 9.

Family visitation will be Saturday, April 12, 2025, starting at 3 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall at Fountain of Life Bible Church, Johnson City, Tenn. A remembrance prayer follows at 4 p.m. by Pastor Vic Young.
