Elizabethton High School Principal Dr. Jon Minton cuts the ribbon Friday to officially open the Community Development and Engagement Center, 402 Bemberg Road. Joining him (from left of Minton) are Director of Schools Richard VanHuss, Mayor Bill Carter, Councilman Mike Simerly, and others. The center, located at the former Union Prescription Shop, was the first stop on a city schools tour for members of the City Council and Board of Education.
