Glenda Jean (Keller) Shook, age 84, of Elizabethton, Tennessee, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 31, 2025, at the Johnson City Medical Center. Glenda was born on Dec. 16, 1940, in Carter County to the late James Paul Keller and Mae (Bowling) Keller. In addition to her parents, Glenda was also preceded in death by a brother, Jack Keller, and a sister, Ann Price.

Glenda was always known by her family and friends as “Nanny” and was a people person, always happy and never complained. She always made everyone smile and laugh. She was a faithful, godly woman who loved the Lord, loved getting her family together and having gatherings. She loved everyone and was very caring and giving to anyone in need. Nanny put everyone before herself and loved her family dearly. Nanny had worked as an LPN, but most importantly she was a one-of-a-kind wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, mother-in-law and good friend who was headstrong and the absolute rock of her family. Nanny enjoyed shopping, getting “made up,” working with the Girl Scouts and judging beauty pageants, spending time with her family, cooking — she was an amazing cook! Nanny had a knack for decorating and had worked with home interior.

Those left to remember and cherish Nanny include her beloved husband of 64 years, Paul Shook; her children, Jennie (Mark) Keylon and Paula (David) Oliver; her grandchildren, Whitney (Michael) Oliver, Haley Keylon and fiancé Mason Sholar, and Wesley Oliver; her great-grandchildren, Karli Oliver and Kinslei Oliver; her sister and brother, Carol Nave and Jim Keller; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family members and friends.

A private graveside service will be held, with active pallbearers Mark Keylon, David Oliver, Michael Oliver, Wesley Oliver and Mason Sholar, and honorary pallbearers Jack Patrick, Sam Rogers, Dale Hensley, Dean Street and Jim May.

The family is very appreciative of one another for coming together and helping, and those that waited until her entire family was able to say goodbye, and also to a special friend, Margo, for being so helpful and kind.
