Elizabethton police cite suspects in shoplifting, trespassing, theft cases

The following arrests have been reported by the Elizabethton Police Department:

Shoplifting reports at Walmart
Christina Leann Johnson, 35, was cited for shoplifting on March 27 after allegedly skip-scanning $56.12 worth of merchandise at Walmart on Overmountain Drive.

Mirello Elizabeth Rutigliano was issued a criminal summons the day prior for allegedly attempting to steal $164.81 in merchandise.

Both individuals are scheduled to appear in Carter County General Sessions Court on April 14.

Trespass and intoxication arrest
Michael Joe Woodby was arrested March 27 for public intoxication and criminal trespass at Arby’s on Highway 19E.

Woodby had previously been banned from the property. Officers reported he smelled of alcohol, had slurred speech and was in possession of two liquor bottles. He allegedly made lewd comments to a customer and refused to leave when asked.

Wicker furniture theft at Emmanuel College
On March 26, six brown wicker patio chairs valued at nearly $780 were reported stolen from Emmanuel College in Johnson City.

The chairs, a donation to the school, were last seen on March 24. There are currently no suspects.

Three cited in Walmart shoplifting incidents
On March 25, Hunter Peters and Lauren Collins were each cited for shoplifting $178.37 in merchandise from Walmart using the self-checkout.

In a separate incident the same day, Rhonda Michelle Holtsclaw was cited after allegedly concealing $35.06 in unpaid merchandise.

All three are scheduled to appear in court on April 14.

Shoplifting at Food City
Heather Nicole Oliver was trespassed from Food City on March 24 after allegedly stealing a propane cylinder and a box of Goody headache powder valued at $16.98.

She told police she was homeless and could not afford the items.

Public intoxication arrest
Aldoreni Perez Hernandez was arrested March 22 for public intoxication after officers found him in a parked vehicle with damage and a flat tire near East E Street and North Sycamore Street.

He is scheduled to appear in Carter County General Sessions Court on April 14.

All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
