Hampton High School’s annual senior class yard sale will take place Friday, April 4, and Saturday, April 5, at the Keenburg Gymnasium, offering a variety of secondhand treasures while raising funds to offset prom costs for seniors.
Doors will be open Friday from 4 to 7:30 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Any unsold items will be donated to individuals or organizations in need. Those interested in receiving remaining items are encouraged to email annastout@carterk12.net or tracieshelton@carterk12.net to arrange pickup.
Community members looking to contribute to the sale may drop off donations at the school on Thursday, April 3, or Friday, April 4.
The funds raised from the event help lower the cost of prom for all seniors and ensure a memorable experience, complete with a formal venue and sit-down dinner at MeadowView Convention Center’s Cattails Ballroom. This year’s graduating class, which has endured significant disruptions—including the loss of their homecoming events, sports on home fields, and even their school building due to Hurricane Helene—is especially in need of support.
Additionally, the Lady Bulldogs basketball team will host a breakfast fundraiser at Keenburg on Saturday morning from 8 to 11 a.m. Tickets are $6 and available at the door. The menu includes biscuits and gravy with a choice of bacon or sausage, milk, juice, or coffee, or pancakes with bacon or sausage and a drink. Dine-in and carry-out options will be available.
Organizers encourage the community to “shop, eat, and support HHS” in this weekend of fundraising and gratitude.
“We would also like to thank the numerous communities, businesses, organizations, and individuals who have supported Hampton High School throughout the years—and especially this year in the wake of the devastation from Hurricane Helene,” organizers said.
