Bill Cline, age 87, of Elizabethton, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. Bill was born in Mohawk, West Virginia, to the late Woodrow and Beulah Gaylean Cline. In addition to his parents, Bill was also preceded in death by a brother, LeRoy Cline; and three sisters, JoAnn Crowe, Dorothy Elizabeth Barbour and Debbie Cline.

Bill retired as the president and CEO of Cline-Holder Electric Supply. He started Cline-Holder Electric Supply in a building in his backyard in 1972 while working at TPI Corporation. Bill was a devoted member of Hunter United Methodist Church and a past Sunday school teacher. He loved the Lord Jesus and was always active in the community and his church. He was a former board member at Citizens Bank as well. Bill loved the Atlanta Braves, the Dallas Cowboys, the West Virginia Mountaineers, the UT Vols and all sports. Most of all, Bill loved his family and the time he spent with them.

Those left to continue Bill’s legacy include his wife of 65 years, Phyllis Cline of the home; two sons, Tim (Tina) Cline and Kevin Cline, all of Elizabethton; two grandchildren, Jessica (Cline) Watkins and husband, Brian, of Piney Flats, and Derek (Kendra) Cline of Elizabethton; two great-granddaughters, Caroline Cline and Camille Cline of Elizabethton; two brothers, Arthur (June) Cline of Bassett, Virginia, and Danny Cline of Virginia; and several nieces and nephews.

A service to honor and celebrate Bill’s life will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 29, 2025, in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home of Elizabethton, with Pastor Mike Berry and Pastor Rick Blankenship officiating. The family will receive friends from noon until 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel prior to the service on Saturday or at the residence at any time.

The graveside service will follow in Garland Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Jonathan Houser, Brian Watkins, Denny Bishop, Tony Bishop, Derek Cline and Scott Odom. Honorary pallbearers will be Sean Cline, Wes Addair, Matt Geagley, John L. Bowers III, Nick Holder, Benjamin Bishop, Tommy Hughes, Michael Hughes, David Birkner and John Holsclaw.
