To the Editor:
The average citizen in this nation does not realize that there is a faction of hard-core liberals in this country that have developed a system via the internet and the cellphone system by which they can stage local demonstrations at any time, even though they are relatively few in number, percent-wise.
When there is a local, say, town hall meeting in a certain area, they have set up an email and/or cellphone list through which they contact all of their liberal constituents in that region (a very large area) with information about the meeting and what items they are to demonstrate against, with the desire to disrupt the meeting and get headlines in the news media.
It is important to realize that these groups do not represent the true feeling of the local people, nor do they care about the true concerns of the local people. The whole purpose of these demonstrations is to prevent the local political leaders from having meaningful interaction with their constituents. They likewise want to turn local people against certain legislation, executive orders or the actions of certain individuals.
If you only occasionally watch the TV news/media, you have seen this happen across the nation at town meetings between congressmen and senators in their respective districts. This has already happened to Rep. Harshbarger and Sen. Blackburn.
One way to circumvent this is to only allow local citizens to attend the meetings, but this may be difficult and still not prevent outside disturbances. Perhaps the best way is to do what former Congressman Jimmy Quillen did. He would mail out self-addressed, numbered questionnaires to his constituents, then later issue the results of the surveys and often had the results printed in the local media.
This method gave a very large segment of the population an opportunity to voice their feelings and concerns. It made the individual feel like he was participating in the political process and gave the incumbent a good feeling about where the general population stood and what items were most important. A lot of good legislation came from this process.
The whole process of disrupting meetings to push various agendas was started by such persons as billionaire George Soros, Bill Gates and certain liberal members of Congress, as well as a few previous liberal presidents. George Soros, for instance, has spent millions of dollars at various universities to study ways to manipulate the general public. They teach the demonstrator techniques to make a big show in the media. So many of their methods have socialistic or communistic overtones.
It is important that people recognize these methods and not allow them to change their philosophy relative to the Christian heritage of our nation as demonstrated in our Constitution.
