Tennessee celebrated its annual Ag Day on the Hill at the State Capitol in Nashville on Tuesday. Gov. Bill Lee was joined by key industry leaders, agricultural students, and community supporters to highlight the collaboration within the state’s agricultural community. The State Executive Leadership Team—Gov. Lee, Agriculture Commissioner Charlie Hatcher, and Deputy Commissioner Andy Holt—won the corn-shelling contest. The Farm and Forest Families of Tennessee organization donated $1,000 in honor of the contest winners to the Shooting Hunger Backpack Program. Agriculture and forestry contribute more than $81 billion annually to Tennessee’s economy and employ hundreds of thousands of Tennesseans.
