Keep Carter County Beautiful (KCCB) is calling on community volunteers to help remove trash and litter from Milligan Highway during a cleanup event on Saturday, March 22, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The cleanup will take place along Milligan Highway from Highway 321 to Okolona Road. Volunteers are encouraged to participate in this effort to enhance the beauty of the community.

Participants will meet at the Happy Valley Elementary School parking lot on Milligan Highway before the event. KCCB will provide gloves, garbage bags, safety vests, and trash grabbers. Volunteers should bring their own water, though bottled water will be available if needed.

As a token of appreciation, KCCB will provide Jersey Mike’s gift cards for lunch to all volunteers.

This event is part of the Tennessee Outreach and Opportunity for Transportation (TOOT) program. All volunteers must sign a waiver before participating. Those under 18 must have a parent or guardian sign on their behalf.

Before attending, volunteers are encouraged to watch a TOOT safety video on the “Events” page of the KCCB website at www.kccb.tn.org. The website also includes a map to the meeting location.

Vests and grabbers for the event have been provided by Keep Tennessee Beautiful and the Keep America Beautiful Affiliate Support Program. TOOT will supply garbage bags and handle the collection of all trash gathered during the cleanup.
