Fred B. Elijah, 65, of Jonesborough, passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at his home. He was born November 24, 1959.

Fred proudly served in the United States Army. He loved his country and was a proud veteran. He always had a cold drink and a snack ready for anyone who stopped by and always made friends with his neighbors.

Fred was preceded in death by his mother, Mary F. Walsh, as well as his grandparents, Willard Earl and Anna Maude Drain Mathes.

He is survived by his siblings, Annette Elijah, Joel Elijah, Cynthia Lyons and husband Darrell, and Sabrina Heaton; nieces Laura Elijah and husband Chris Clevenger, Kayla Richardson and husband Ryan, Chloe Lyons; and nephew Nate. He also has a great-nephew and niece.

Serving as pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 10:20 a.m. Saturday, will be Joel Elijah, Darrell Lyons, Chris Clevenger, Ryan Richardson, Chris Mathes, Buster Lyons, Nate Nidiffer, David Nidiffer, and Cody Vanover.

A graveside service to honor Fred’s life and military service will be held at Mausoleum of Peace, Happy Valley Memorial Park, on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at 11 a.m., with Pastor Randy Johnson officiating. The immediate family will assemble at the funeral home at 10:20 a.m. to go in procession to the cemetery. Friends may assemble at the Mausoleum of Peace.
