A June 30 court date was set this week for Elijah Jack Hartley, who is charged with three counts of rape of a child and three counts of especially aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor.
Hartley appeared this week in Carter County Circuit Court with Judge Lisa Rice presiding.
Hartley, 19, was arrested in April 2024 and was bound over to the grand jury in May on the charges.
Also, a June 30 court date was set for Jim Chambers, who is charged with two counts of first-degree murder, three counts of aggravated kidnapping, tampering with or fabricating evidence, and abuse of a corpse. Chambers is charged in the death of Edward Elliott, whose body was found in May 2024 inside a buried freezer in a remote part of Hampton.
Joey Guinn also faces first-degree murder charges in the case and will appear in court on June 30 to face the charges.
Thomas Alan Farmer, charged with second-degree murder, was ordered by Judge Rice to appear in court on April 11 to be tried on the charge. Farmer, 52, of Johnson City, was indicted for the murder of a man who reportedly died from a fentanyl overdose at a Hampton home.
