A community singing for the Carter County Compassion Center will be hosted at Valley Forge Free Will Baptist Church in Elizabethton on Sunday, March 9, at 6 p.m. Churches and Christians will come together for a time of worship and praise while helping a local ministry. All churches are invited to join in and support this faith community gathering.
The evening will include First Baptist of Elizabethton, Loretta Bowers and B.A.S.I.C., Loren Harris, Jeff Snyder and the Valley Forge Praise Choir.
A love offering will be received, with all proceeds going to help the Elizabethton community through the Carter Compassion Center. Donations can also be made online to CCC at their website: www.cartercompassion.org/donate.html.
The Carter Compassion Center was established in 2019 to assist with poverty and homelessness within Carter County. The county needed a “resource hub” that would become a liaison between the resources and the individuals and families needing assistance. Their goal is to provide a plan of action along with a mentor who guides those in need through a process with a convenient “one-stop” facility. The desire of the center is to help clients thrive and become contributing members of society.
Valley Forge Free Will Baptist Church is located at 1503 Riverview Road in Elizabethton. The pastor is the Rev. Randy Johnson.
