Modern Woodmen of America members in Elizabethton recently donated $2,500 to Butler Ruritan during a special event on Feb. 14. The event supported local relief efforts following Hurricane Helene flooding.
Donna Bare contributed the funds through Modern Woodmen’s Matching Fund Program. The donation will be used to assist flood victims in the community.
The Matching Fund Program allows Modern Woodmen members nationwide to support local causes, organizations, or individuals in need through fundraisers. Each year, these fundraising projects contribute more than $10 million to community needs across the country.
“The community truly came together to support a local need,” said Donna Bare, local Modern Woodmen volunteer leader. “That support is what it’s all about.”
Coordinated by local Modern Woodmen members, the fraternal financial services organization’s chapters and youth service clubs provide opportunities for members to engage in social and educational activities and volunteer projects that address local needs.
