Randall Hutchins, 82, of Elizabethton, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2025, at the Hermitage Health Care Center of Elizabethton. Randall was born in Elizabethton to the late Harry Wagner Hutchins and Eva Ruth (Milhorn) Hutchins. In addition to his parents, Randall was also preceded in death by a sister, Brenda Richardson.

Randall retired from Mapes Piano String as an engineer and was a United States Air Force veteran between 1961 and 1964. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Elizabethton and a member of Meadows Sunday School Class. Randall enjoyed hunting and was a master craftsman, very talented in both woodworking and building boats.

Those left to cherish and remember Randall include his beloved wife of 64 years, Carol Fox Hutchins, of the home; two children, John (Pam) Hutchins and Melanie (Mark) Honeycutt, all of Elizabethton; four grandchildren, Joshua (Lindsey) Hutchins, Taylor (Zack) Miller, Jacob (Madison Combs) Davis, and Michael (Maddie) Hutchins; five great-grandchildren, Adriana Hutchins, Veda Blackburn, Maverick Hutchins, Sully Miller, Riley Miller, and Hallie Hutchins (due March 10); a brother, Farrell Hutchins of Elizabethton; nieces and nephews, Dianne Hyatt, Donna Dumas, Jeannie Barker, Connie Shephard, Tammy Buchanan, Karen Barnett, Charles Hutchins, Jeff Hutchins, Mark Blevins; and his special friends, Bill and Lois Schaff, Mark Schaff, Sam and Jeanette Bradshaw, and Bucky Harris.

A graveside service to honor Randall’s memory will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at Mountain Home National Cemetery with Pastor Todd Hallman officiating. Music will be provided by Mr. Jerry Barnett. Military honors will be provided at the graveside service. Active pallbearers will be Zack Miller, Jake Davis, Joshua Hutchins, Mark Honeycutt, and Mark Schaff. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Lee Ritchie, Harry Ford, Bill Schaff, Michael Hutchins, and Richard Culver. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 9:45 a.m. on Thursday.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the administration and staff of Sycamore Springs, Hermitage Health Care Center, and Amedisys Hospice for the care given during his illness.
