Local golfers once again will be able to tee off at the Elizabethton Golf Course, though only on the front nine, beginning Saturday, Feb. 15.
Closed since remnants of Hurricane Helene passed through in September 2024, leaving behind severe damage caused by fallen trees, golf pro Euggie Jones and his staff have worked tirelessly to get half of the course reopened.
A large portion of the delay was created by having to give insurance and FEMA the ability to review the damage to see how much the course could be reimbursed for the damages caused.
Jones and his staff have been cutting trees and cleaning up the front nine holes to give golfers the opportunity to return to the course.
The back nine has several trees that will have to be removed professionally due to the dangers they have created for both golfers and the course itself.
Golfers must set up tee times by calling the golf course at 423-542-8051 or in person at the golf shop. There will be no online reservations taken at this time.
