Charles Holdren, Elizabethton, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2025, at the age of 83.

Born in Elizabethton, Tennessee, on February 18, 1941, he was a self-employed mechanic, avid Ford and NASCAR fan, fisherman and sportsman. He was a member of Sinking Creek Baptist Church and the Johnson City CB Club. He was preceded in death by his parents, Archie and Nora Holdren, and his sisters Barbara Galand, Ethel Akard, Alberta Sims, Louise Lyons and Anna Miller.

He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Brenda; his children, Rick Holdren and wife, Dina, and Tim Holdren and wife, Ginger; his grandchildren, Nick Holdren, Kalee Holdren and Cortlyn Holdren; step-grandchildren, Patrick Kerns and Preston Kerns; and five great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Monday, February 17, 2025, in Happy Valley Memorial Park with the Rev. Chuck Babb officiating. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or Gideons International, P.O. Box 1951, Elizabethton, TN 37643.
