To the Editor:
Marsha Blackburn, parroting the talking points of her idol, claims that because of the new administration Americans are “safe again” (Elizabethton Star, Jan. 29). Ridiculous. Here’s what would make me feel safe in America:
– A Secretary of Defense who is not a drunk.
– A Secretary of HHS who is not a science-denying grifter.
– A foreign policy that does not pick fights with our allies.
– A comprehensive immigration policy that we could have had last year through a bipartisan bill that her idol told Republicans in Congress to scuttle.
And I can’t resist pointing out a couple of her errors. The vast majority of fentanyl smugglers are Americans. The idea that Biden oversaw “open borders” is nothing but an electioneering slogan; he deported hundreds of thousands.
Finally, her bill for “Preventing Violence against Women by Illegal Aliens” is especially asinine, since we already have laws addressing violence against women. But, I’m not sure she cares about that anyway, since her idol is an abuser of women, an adjudicated rapist.
