The City of Elizabethton Parks and Recreation Department is inviting community members to help shape the future of Cat Island Park by completing a survey and attending a drop-in meeting. Residents have a unique opportunity to share their ideas, concerns and priorities for recreational improvements as part of the park’s redevelopment planning process.
The drop-in meeting will be held Friday, Feb. 14, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Pine Room at the Tetrick Community Center, 1509 W. Elk Ave. Community members are encouraged to stop by at any time during these hours to provide feedback and discuss potential improvements. Friends and family members are welcome, as public input will help set priorities for future park enhancements.
For those unable to attend in person, feedback can also be submitted through an online survey at www.surveymonkey.com/r/ElizabethtonRecSurv. The survey is accessible via QR codes posted throughout the city from Feb. 10-13, including at downtown restaurants and shops, the Elizabethton/Carter County Public Library, Elizabethton City Hall and the Tetrick Community Center. Survey links can also be found on the City of Elizabethton Parks and Recreation Facebook page, the City of Elizabethton Facebook page and the city’s website at www.elizabethton.org.
“This is an exciting opportunity for the community to take part in shaping the future of Cat Island Park,” said David Nanney, Elizabethton Parks and Recreation director. “We want to hear from as many people as possible to ensure the redevelopment reflects the needs and desires of our residents.”
