This will be the 22nd year for the Tipton-Haynes Maple Syrup Festival. The event illustrates where maple syrup comes from, and more importantly, guests can partake of the product.

Visitors can learn how sap is extracted from maple trees on the grounds of the historic home and how it is boiled down in a wood-fired furnace until it becomes rich syrup. Did you know it takes 10 gallons of sap to make a pint of syrup?

Along with pancakes and maple syrup, guests can enjoy bacon, sausage, grits and more, with juice, coffee and milk available.

Maple Grove Farms of Afton, Tenn., will be on-site selling their maple syrup all day.
