MORRISTOWN — The National Weather Service (NWS) in Morristown has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for portions of southwest North Carolina, east Tennessee, and southwest Virginia, as a mix of light rain and snow is expected to affect the region tonight into early Monday.
The NWS reports that northern areas and higher elevations will see the greatest impact, with the East Tennessee mountains forecasted to receive light snow accumulations of 1 to 2 inches. Other areas, including the northern Plateau, Northeast Tennessee, and Southwest Virginia, could see snow accumulations ranging from a dusting to around half an inch.
Residents and travelers are advised to use caution, especially in higher elevations, where snowfall could create slick road conditions. For additional updates, visit the National Weather Service website or monitor local weather reports.
