The City of Johnson City’s Solid Waste Department has started collecting live Christmas trees as part of the regular brush collection schedule. Residents can find their brush collection day by visiting www.johnsoncitytn.org/brushcollectionschedule.

To ensure smooth collection, homeowners are asked to follow these guidelines when placing trees at the curb:

  1. Christmas trees must be placed behind or on the curb for collection. Do not place trees in the roadway, on center medians, or on islands.
  2. Do not place trees next to fences, guy wires, poles, or under trees, as equipment cannot access those areas.
  3. All decorations must be removed from trees. Trees mixed with other debris will not be collected until properly separated.
