Charlotte A. Wamsley, 70, of Watauga, passed away at her residence on Sunday, December 22, 2024. She was born to the late Clyde and Mary Ruth Slagle Crawford. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Carl Slagle, Junior Crawford, and Roy Crawford; one sister, Frances “Frankie” Myers; and a brother-in-law, Neil Easley.

Charlotte attended Word of Life Church. She loved the Lord. She was a devout wife, mother and homemaker. Charlotte loved her family more than anything and enjoyed taking care of them. She could often be found cooking or canning. She had a talent for both.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Lee Wamsley of the home; one son, Gary Chapman (Shelia) of Elizabethton; five daughters, MaryAnn Chapman of Abingdon, Va., Carolyn Chapman of Elizabethton, Linda Kellum of Elizabethton, Lisa Jones of Watauga, and Katilyn Wamsley, also of Elizabethton; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four brothers, Arnold Slagle, James Crawford (Nancy), Darrell Crawford, and Billy Crawford; two sisters, Faye Worley and Peggy Easley; as well as several nieces, nephews and other family members.

A celebration of Charlotte’s life will be held on Saturday, December 28, at 2 p.m. at Tetrick Funeral Home in the Chapel of Peace with Pastor Donnie Reagan and Pastor Nathan Jennings officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the hour of service. The graveside service will follow in Emmert Cemetery with Phillip Jones, Isaac Jones, William Jones, John Harris, Cody Stines and Jeff Feathers serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Crowe, Austin Clawson, Ted Rich and David Moffitt.
