For more than 60 years, the Carter County Christian Men’s Fellowship (CCCMF) has met to exalt Christ, encourage believers, connect churches, and equip men for ministry. The group provides resources to other ministries while remaining true to its mission despite changing times.

CCCMF primarily supports churches associated with the Restoration Movement but welcomes attendees from different denominations to its monthly gatherings. In addition to its monthly meetings, the fellowship supports six missions: Appalachian Christian Camp, ETCHA, ARM, Campus Student Fellowship at ETSU, Good Samaritan Ministries, and The Fellowship at Whitehead Hill Christian Church.

CCCMF also offers scholarships to students pursuing education for ministry and contributes resources to the community. In recent years, the fellowship has focused more on preparing young people for ministry by partnering with Johnson University and Milligan University.

At the recent CCCMF meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 19, held at Borderview Christian Church, members celebrated Christmas and selected officers for 2025. Greg Odom led congregational singing to open the evening’s worship service.

The new officers for 2025 are:

  • Scott Fisher (President)
  • Devin Pierson (1st Vice President)
  • Greg Odom (2nd Vice President)
  • Ben Patton (Secretary)
  • Scott Reynolds (Treasurer)

Additionally, Don Brandon, Scott Reynolds, and Greg Odom will oversee worship.

Special music for the evening featured Reynolds, Raymond Morton, and Tony Rominger performing a rendition of “Mary, Did You Know?” Gerald Holly, retiring senior minister at Lower Shell Creek Christian Church, delivered a sermon titled “Better Together,” with key texts from Matthew 18:19 and Hebrews 10:24-25.

Outgoing President Dan Simerly conducted the business portion of the meeting, including announcements about upcoming events such as the next Praise Gathering, which will also be held at Borderview Christian Church. After a time of prayer requests and prayer, the evening concluded with food and fellowship.

Following the service, incoming President Scott Fisher, senior minister at Borderview Christian Church, shared CCCMF’s vision for the new year.

“Our theme for the upcoming year is ‘Christ Above All,’ rooted in Acts 4:12,” Fisher said. “Really, we are moving forward more on a lifestyle than a theme. With this upcoming year, we want to place a greater emphasis on service. We want to see our men inspire, mentor, and guide the next generation in faithful service to Jesus.”
