Anna Eleanor Gibson Burkhart, 79, Sevierville, Tenn., formerly of Elizabethton, passed away Monday, November 25, 2024, at Oak Ridge Methodist Hospital. She was born April 25, 1945 in St. Charles, Va., to the late Homer W. and Mabel Phillips Gibson. She had lived several years in Elizabethton.

Anna loved reading her Bible and working puzzle books. She was a member of Pleasant Beach Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Burkhart; one sister, Agnes Austin; and four brothers, Charles Gibson, Donald Gibson, Otis Gibson and Carl Gibson.

Survivors include her sons, Kenny (Tammy) Burkhart, Sevierville, and Tommy Burkhart, Elizabethton; her grandchildren, Brittney Brooks, Taylor Burkhart, Brandon Burkhart, Rachel Waldrop and Logan Burkhart; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Christine (Johnny) Burleson; brother, Johnny (Connie) Gibson; sister-in-law, Trena Gibson; and several nieces and nephews.

A Service to Celebrate the Life of Anna Burkhart will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 30, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastor Mark Fowler officiating. Honorary Pastor will be Rev. Bobby Stout. Music will be provided by Greg Ruston. Interment will follow at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family would like to express a special thank you to the Hospice of Oak Ridge and her church family, Pleasant Beach Baptist Church, for all their support and prayers.
