Carter County Sheriff’s Department reports arrests

The following arrests have been reported by the Carter County Sheriff’s Office:
Failure to Appear in Felony Case
On Nov. 8, Lt. Justin Johnson arrested Deqwana Iesha Delee at the Carter County Sheriff’s Office on a warrant for failure to appear in a felony case issued by the Carter County Criminal Court. Delee was escorted to the Carter County Detention Center without incident.
DUI and Vehicle Crash
At approximately 6:11 p.m. on Nov. 8, Sgt. Cory Locklear responded to a crash on Highway 19E where a vehicle had gone 150 feet down an embankment. William S. Blevins was arrested for driving under the influence (first offense) after showing signs of impairment, including bloodshot eyes, slurred speech, and unsteady behavior. THC-labeled edibles were found at the scene. Blevins was transported to the Carter County Detention Center.
Failure to Appear in Misdemeanor Case
On Nov. 9, Sgt. Cory Locklear worked with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office to arrest James Jasso-Herrera on a Carter County General Sessions Court warrant for failure to appear in a misdemeanor case. Jasso-Herrera is being held on a $25,000 bond at the Carter County Detention Center.
Violation of Probation
Sgt. Cory Locklear also assisted in the arrest of Joshua Wayne Moody on Nov. 9. Moody had an active Carter County warrant for violating probation. He was transported to the Carter County Detention Center and is being held on a $25,000 bond.
Violation of Probation – Criminal Court
Deputy Hunter Skalecki arrested Leann Cathy Jane Lewis on Nov. 9 with assistance from the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office. Lewis had an active violation of probation warrant issued by the Carter County Criminal Court. She was transported to the Carter County Detention Center without incident.
DUI and Assault Against First Responder
Deputy Jared Shelton and Sgt. Tyler Holsclaw responded to a crash at First Avenue and Highway 19E on Nov. 9. The driver, identified as Ryan Devon Polifka, became combative, assaulted a deputy, and resisted arrest. Polifka, who admitted to drinking, was charged with assault against a first responder, driving under the influence (first offense), and resisting arrest. He was transported to the Carter County Detention Center.
Multiple Warrants Served
On Nov. 10, Sgt. Tyler Holsclaw arrested William Jason Ruble following a pursuit by a bonding company. Ruble, who had multiple warrants including probation violations and theft, was taken into custody and transported to the Carter County Detention Center.
Domestic Violence Warrant
Deputy Hunter Skalecki arrested Paul Pomrenke on Nov. 11 at Bunker Hill Road for an active domestic violence warrant issued by Carter County General Sessions Court. Pomrenke was transported to the Carter County Detention Center without incident.
Failure to Appear in Felony Case
On Nov. 11, Lt. Johnathan Blevins arrested Joseph Curtis Andes on a felony failure-to-appear warrant issued by the Carter County Criminal Court. Andes was transported to the Carter County Detention Center and held without bond.
DUI Following Vehicle Crash
Deputy Brett Butler responded to a single-vehicle crash on Cedar Grove Road on Nov. 11. The driver, Vicente Chilel Faustino Magnolio, was arrested for driving under the influence after empty alcohol containers were found in the vehicle. Magnolio, who did not possess a valid driver’s license, was transported to the Carter County Detention Center.
Warrant Service for Multiple Violations
Deputy Jeffery Winters arrested Nicholas Alexander Isaacs on Nov. 12 in Duffield, Va., for multiple violations, including failure to appear for booking and probation violations. Isaacs was transported to the Carter County Detention Center.
Failure to Appear in Misdemeanor Case
On Nov. 12, Alvin C. Hicks voluntarily turned himself in at the Carter County Detention Center for an active misdemeanor failure-to-appear warrant issued by the General Sessions Court.
Drug-Related Charges
Sgt. Tyler Holsclaw arrested Christopher Colt Anderson on Nov. 13 after Anderson evaded officers and was found in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Anderson also had an active probation violation warrant. He was transported to the Carter County Detention Center.
Violation of Protective Order
Deputy Philip Tremblay served a warrant on Nov. 13 for Danielle Sunshine Bailey at a Taylor Avenue residence. Bailey was arrested for violating an order of protection and transported to the Carter County Detention Center.
Fugitive Arrested for Out-of-State Warrant
Sgt. Samantha Beckett arrested Terry Lee White on Nov. 13 on a fugitive warrant for charges in North Carolina. White was held without bond and is awaiting extradition.
